Halloween might just be Dallin's favorite holiday! He loves dressing up and finally decided on the lion costume after trying on a clown, duck, pumpkin, lizard, and ladybug. Dallin was also so excited for Brooke to be a clown. He repeated all day, "Mommy...mines (me) lion, Brookie clown. Brookie funny mommy. Mines (me) scary." Both Dallin and Brooke were amazed by all the exciting costumes at our ward trunk or treat. We had a hard time keeping them moving from trunk to trunk. Ever since Halloween Dallin has wanted to continue to wear his lion costume. Luckily it is still about 85 degrees here in Florida and he has been sweating so much that he finally gave up the costume! Brooke's hair is getting really red...well more orange. I had taken her wig off early on in the night so that she was in her costume, but didn't have to wear the itchy wig. A few minutes after I took the wig off I had someone come over and ask me what I used to dye her hair to match her costume so well. Poor Brooke! She's a little clown year round.

Doug helped Dallin and Brooke carve their first pumpkin this year. Dallin has been excited for several days knowing that we were going to the pumpkin patch to pick out a "big daddy pumpkin" and a "small baby Brookie pumpkin". The kids both watched Doug intently while he scooped out the seeds and plopped them down on the table. The biggest hit of course was the lighting of the pumpkin. Dallin and Brooke looked a bit worried as I turned out the lights, but were both so excited when they saw the face of the pumpkin light up.Ever since we carved our pumpkin, Dallin has pointed out every pumpkin outside, in stores, windows, and on TV. He has become quite obsessed with them. In fact, now when he wants Brooke to come with him he says "Come on Brookie Pumpkin". The other day I heard both of them laughing hysterically in the kitchen. When I peeked around the corner Dallin had put his empty Halloween pumpkin bucket on Brooke's head. After taking a couple of pictures I came in to make dinner and they still continued to take turns putting the buckets on their heads until I made them stop to eat dinner. I definitely got my $1.50 out of that bucket!
